Recently, bioscouring with pectin degrading enzymes has been paid extensive attention, as an environmentally friendly alternative method to remove noncellulosic "impurities" from raw cotton.Compared to the polluting, toxic and non-biodegradable features of traditional chemical degumming treatment, biotechnological degumming presents an ecofriendly and economic alternative to the problems in textile industry.
