Lake Qinghai,the largest inland lake on the northeastern part of the Tibetan Plateau,lies in the critical semi-arid zone between the eastern humid and the western arid areas,and is extremely sensitive to climatic changes.A 18.5m long drilling core (1F) from the depo-center of southwest-sub basin of Lake Qinghai provides new information of the climatic dynamics of Asian semi-arid areas since 32ka BP.We applied X-Ray Diffraction Analysis to determine the content of quartz,aragonite,dolomite and calcite.
