Dentin phosphophoryn (DPP), a member of small integrin-binding ligand N-linked glycoproteins (SIBLING) family, is the most abundant of the non-collagenous polyanionic proteins in dentin. It is known to induce hydroxyapatite formation in vitro. In this study, DPP-derived RGD peptide was applied to direct pulp capping in experimental rats. After 2 and 3 weeks, the rats were killed and teeth to which the material was applied were examined for the induction of reparative dentin formation and the response of pulp tissue in H-E staining sections.
