In mid-latitudinal continental and island regions, different air masses origins and their interactions with complicated topography along their journey may result in different isotope composition.Comparisons of stable isotopes in continental and island precipitation events can be used to explore the potential climatic controls upon isotopic content and yield information about the circulation and structure of the atmosphere.
