Recent years have witnessed a growing interest in developing a comprehensive understanding of adhesive contacts which play a crucial role in many biological and physical systems.The adhesion strength is commonly measured by the pull-off force beyond which the adhesion system will lost its stability and break up.There is a growing body of evidence showing that adhesive contact between micro and nanoscale asperities is intimately related to contact surface topography, material properties and some tribological phenomena.
