Purpose: The goals of this study were to determine if magnetic resonance guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) combined with the microbubbles can deliver the neurotoxic agent quinolinic acid to the brain, and induce neuronal apoptosis in target tissue selectively and noninvasively.Methods: Twenty Sprague Dawley male rats were subjected to MRgFUS after the injection of microbubbles.
