Wi-Fi Assisted GNSS Positioning and Continuous Tracking

  Currently location-based services have been widely used.It is critical to ensure the effectiveness of universe positioning.GNSS and Wi-Fi fingerprint positioning are used in outdoor and indoor environments,respectively.Both can achieve rather accurate positioning results.Nevertheless,in some situations,any of the two methods cannot be employed by user receivers to obtain positions because the satellites or Wi-Fi signals may be insufficient at the junction of two positioning systems.Hence,in this paper,we propose a GNSS and Wi-Fi positioning fusion method to implement the availability and continuity of receiver's navigation and positioning.First,a Wi-Fi-assisted GNSS positioning method is proposed.When the number of satellites is insufficient,assistant information provided by Wi-Fi systems can improve the availability of positioning.When both GNSS and Wi-Fi positioning are available,group Kalman filter technique is hired to improve the positioning accuracy.Simulation results show that the proposed positioning methods can improve the availability and accuracy of positioning.
