Monolithic HPLC columns (Chromolith-columns) possess about 20% higher porosity than particulate ones.As a result they can be operated at much higher flow rates.A mixture of pharmaceutical drugs can be separated at 1 mL/min as well as with 9mL/min without limitations towards the column backpressure.Thus the time of analysis can be reduced by factor 5-10.
