Scutellariabarbata D.Don (SB) is commonly used to treat lung cancer in Chinese medicine but the underlining mechanism is unclear. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the antitumor effect of SB and its related molecular mechanisms in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treatment.Dose-dependent cytotoxicity of SB was observed in both H1650 (p53 wild type) and H1975 (p53 mutant) adenocarcinoma cell lines.A significant dose-dependent decrease in colony number and size was observed in SB-treated cells compared to the control (P<0.05).
