Grafting is a routine technique to prevent soil-borne fusarium wilt disease in continuous watermelon production.Grafting can comprehensively and dramatically affect growth and development of scion in biomass, sex determination and other physiological properties via alternations on hormone metabolism.Grafting can also induce tolerance to abiotic stresses, including high-salinity, drought and low temperature and improve nutrient uptake.Definitely, gene expression in scion or rootstock is changed after grafting.
