Comparative Study of Vinyl Ethers' Photopolymerization and Electropolymerization

  Vinyl ethers photopolymerization has been videly studied for many years, while the vinyl ethers electropolymerization has been rarely investigated.Recently, we found out vinyl ethers can be polymerized by both UV and electric field for some special photoinitiators.In this paper, the kinetics of vinyl ethers photopolyrnerization and electropolymerzation had been investigated by RT-FTIR, while different initiators, different initiator ratios, different UV light intensity, different electric field intensity and different monomers were taken as the variables.The molecular weight of the poly(vinyl ether) obtained by photopolymerization and electropolymerization respectively was mesured by GPC.The thermal stability and Tg of the polymers obtained by these two different curing methods were measured by TGA and DSC.
