Under mechanochemical ball milling conditions, greener and more straightforward methods were developed for efficient synthesis of various nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds including quinolines/tetrahydroquinolines1 and benzoxazoles/benzothiazoles,2,3 which exhibit the advantages of higher chemoselectivity or diastereoselectivity, short reaction time, free use of organic solvent, relatively simple work-up procedure comparing with traditional methods.
