Objective Cytosine arabinoside (Ara-C) is widely used to treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and Ara-C metabolizing enzymes could affect the cytotoxicity of Ara-C.To assess the pharmacogenomic effects of Ara-C metabolic pathway,we genotyped 19 SNPs within 3 pathway genes using DNA samples from 100 AML patients treated with Ara-C to determine the effect of genetic variants within Ara-C pathway genes on AML treatment response.
