Background Previous studies have shown that All-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) educes apoptotic preventing effect in numerous cell types by down-regulating apoptotic signals.But its utility in Ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury remains unclear.Receptor of advanced glycation end products (RAGE) has been demonstrated to play a key role in I/R injury.This study was designed to reveal the effect of ATRA in preventing I/R injury in diabetic mice and its correlation with RAGE.
