Hydrophobicity is one of the main variable attributes of amino acid side-chains and its measured or calculated values are presented in hundreds of different hydrophobicity index scales that vary significantly in their contents.The aim of this research is to provide a measure how related is given scale to hydrophobicity —we call this hydrophobicity grade.Considering large variations in the content of hydrophobic scale,classical approach which defines a consensus scale and measures similarity to it is inadequate.
