Nanocomposites based on various nanoparticles (NPs) and liquid crystals (LC) combining supramolecular order and fluid properties are intensively studied during past two decades.Using LC polymers as the host matrix for NPs may lead to creation of solid composites preserving LC spatial order and containing NPs organized into predetermined 2D and 3D arrangements.Our group develops approaches for the chemical and physical binding of NPs to LC polymer matrices [1, 2].In this study,we used polymers with thiol functional group at the end of the main chain which can be grafted to Au NPs by substitution of the NP shell molecules [3].
