The vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) plays an important role in tumor cell survival,growth,and metastasis.There is a G-rich sequence which is a binding site for Spl transcription factor in the VEGF gene.In this research,the four benzo[c]phenanthridine derivatives were synthesized in our laboratory,and their binding affinity and thermodynamics with VEGF G-qudruplex were evaluated by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry(ESI-MS).It shown that the smaller end group of the derivative is favored to the binding and brings an advantage in stablization of VEGF G-quadruplex and its complex,which provides a possible direction in the drug design targeting to VEGF G-quadruplex.
