The genus Aspergillus accommodates important species in industry, medicine and human health.Taxonomic problems of the genus lie in the limited choice of morphological, developmental, and cultural characters, with a wide range of particularly phenotypic variation.The current study was aimed to evaluate the biodiversity of Aspergillus species on various agricultural crops in Iran using a polyphasic approach.Some 540 strains isolated from cereals (wheat, barley and maize) and 46 isolates recovered from banana, cucumber, kiwi fruit, melon, peanut and pistachio were examined.
