Fast pyrolysis of biomass is considered as a promising technique to produce environmentally friendly fuels.A potentially very interesting, second generation, green liquid transportation fuel is modified pyrolysis oil.The attractive modification process is hydrodeoxygenation.By this process, the pyrolysis oil is treated with hydrogen using heterogeneous catalysts.
