Orthotropic steel deck system was utilized as one of the basic structural blocks for distribution of traffic loads in decks and for the stiffening of slender plate elements in compression in most magnificent modern bridge (Cornor et al.2012).However,some fatigue details are existed in orthotropic steel decks,which will shorten its fatigue life.For bridges constructed at earlier time,serious fatigue cracks were found in orthotropic steel decks because of relatively lower welding construction quality,and insufficient fatigue design knowledge at that time (Wang et al.2009).So it is necessary to study performance-based reinforcement methods for orthotropic steel decks.
