Objective:To evaluate the association between the exon 6 polymorphism of Human peroxisome proliferators activator receptors gamma(PPAR-7)gene and polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)among Han Chinese women. Methods:To collect the clinical characteristics and the blood samples of 111 patients with PCOS and 92 healthy controls. The exon 6 polymorphism of PPAR-γ gene was genotyped by PCR-RFLP. Results:The CT/TT genotype frequency in PCOS group Was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.01).The frequency of T allele in PCOS group was obviously higher than that in control group(P<0.0 1).The BMI(27.95+4.62 vs 25.75±4.50 P=0.016),waistline(91.00±11.12 vs 83.39±12.89 P=0.002),hipline (103.59±8.95 vs 98.10±11.21 P=0.01)and FPG(5.24±1.55 vs 4.63±0.59 P=0.02)of PCOS patients in CT/TT genotypes were higher than that in CC genotype. Conclusions:The T allele may be associated with the obesity and the higher level of FPG in patients with PCOS.The exon 6 polymorphism of PPAR-γ gene may have the risk susceptibility of Han Chinese women.
