本文对1950年代以来中国学者对英国中世纪城市的研究进行了评述,分别就中世纪早期的英国城市、英国中世纪工商业城市的兴起及其原因、英国中世纪城市的经济功能与城乡关系、英国中世纪城市的社会关系和社会结构、英国中世纪城市与封建体系的关系、英国中世纪城市与资本主义的发展等六个方面的问题,介绍了中国学者的各种观点并予以评论,认为其中有不少富有启发性的独立见解,有的学术观点相当有创见。从总体上说,中国的英国中世纪城市史研究已经起步。但由于条件所限,这一研究也明显存在着多方面不足,其中因研究方法差异而难以与国际同行对话,不能运用第一手资料而使研究难以细致深入是一大缺憾。
This article reviews the Chinese scholars’ research on medieval cities in the UK since the 1950s, and discusses the rise of medieval British commercial cities in the early Middle Ages and their causes, the economic functions and urban-rural relations of medieval British cities, Relations and social structure, the relationship between the medieval city in England and the feudal system, the development of medieval cities in Britain and the development of capitalism, introduced various opinions of Chinese scholars and commented that there are quite a lot of inspiring Independent opinion, some academic point of view quite innovative. In general, the research on the history of British medieval cities in China has started. However, due to the limited conditions, there are obviously many deficiencies in this research. In particular, due to differences in research methods, it is difficult to conduct dialogues with international counterparts and to use first-hand materials to make it difficult to conduct detailed studies in depth.
