　　We will talk about DDVV-type inequalities which are optimal inequalities about sum of square norms of commutators of a sequence of matrices.For some certain types of matrices,these inequalities have good applications to geometry,especially to Simons type inequalities.We will also talk about its generalizations and related problems.
