Objective To evaluate excessive iron deposition of the extrapyramidal system in patients with Parkinsons disease (PD) and vascular parkinsonism (VPS) by enhanced T2* Star weighted angiography (ESWAN).Methods Twenty patients with PD,20 patients with VPS and 20 age- and gender-matched healthy control subjects underwent conventional MRI and ESWAN.The mean phase values were measured and compared among three groups using an analysis of variance (ANOVA).The correlations of phase values changes with Made Hoehn & Yahr staging were analyzed.
