Qaidam basin is a Meso-Cenozoic continental sedimentary basin in western China.There are various energy resources coexisting in it,such as coals,oil,natural gas and uranium deposits,etc.The distribution of these energy minerals in the plane are as follows:oil in the western and northwestern basin;coals and sandstone type of uranium in the northern margin of basin;gas mainly in the mid-eastern basin,and it also found in western and northern basin.Along the longitudinal,oil reservoirs are Middle-Upper Jurassic,Palaeogene and Neogene;gas mainly locate in Quaternary,few in Upper-Lower Tertiary and Jurassic;coals locate in Middle-Lower Jurassic;sandstone-type uranium deposits also locate in Middle-Lower Jurassic,few in the Tertiary.
