  Dramatic increase of data in accordance with the rapid expansion of information society and proliferation of smart devices have opened doors to so called the Big Data Era.Big data has been widely applied in various fields across the world and is currently being utilized in the field of education.Big data is expected to expand its role as an important tool for future education.Therefore,the purpose of this study was to figure out professors perceptions and needs about big data utilization in education in order to meet with rapidly changing educational environment.This study investigated the following research questions.First,how do professors perceive the educational utilization of big data? Second,what are the perceptional differences among professors from different divisions as well as by teaching experience? Third,what are the needs from professors about big data utilization in education? This study would give meaningful implications to the extent and speed to the application of big data to the educational field.And it could also provide solid evidences to training program coordination to help professors understand educational use of big data by finding out professors perceptions and their differences over its educational utilization.In addition,this study would help online and traditional educational institutions build up customized educational service systems based on big data analysis by looking out professors needs for educational use of big data.
