Development of an activation calculation program based on CRAM method

  Material radioactivity caused by neutron activation is very important to radiation protection in both fusion reactor and fission reactor.In this paper,the Chebyshev rational approximation method(CRAM)was adopted to solve the equilibrium equations of nuclides,which has high computational accuracy and efficiency.Based on CRAM method and EAF-2007 nuclear database,an activation calculation program named CEACT was developed and was tested with some examples,including typical nuclide chains,neutron activation of the first wall in fusion reactor and the fuel cladding in fission reactor.The calculation results of CEACT are almost the same as the reference method TTA(transmutation trajectory analysis),and more accurate than the program FISPACT-2007 on short-life nuclides.CEACT also presents good usability for different radiation modes and time steps,and can provide strong support for material activation analysis of ITER and CFETR(China Fusion Engineering Test Reactor)in the future.
