  Ultra-fine full-vulcanized elastomeric nano-particles(ENPs) have been found to have nano-scale effect when they are blended with plastics.For example,ENPs can improve the toughness and the heat resistance of thermoplastics such as PP,PVC,PPC,PA6 simultaneously which is very important for rubber modified plastic,but contrary to classical theory.The nano-size rubber particles can also been successfully applied in thermoset plastic resin,such as phenolic molding materials because its high heat resistance is suitable for Lead-free solder.The nano-size rubber particles have been also used for epoxy modification,such as special adhesives for grindingwheel because of longer life,and for steel industry because of high heat resistance(Fig.1).Many advantages have been found when the nano-size rubber particles was used in friction materials for that phenolic resin in formula.
