The civil environmental responsibility is contained in brazilian federal law 6.938/81, 14th article, as an effective instrument to protect environment, promote wood certification, regulation and sustainability as result.The current production process in Amazon Forest exposes an illegal and perverse mechanism especially in rural productive supply chain involving deforestation, burning forest, loss of natural resources, biodiversity and high levels of carbon emission.By knowing the importance of forests in Brazil as source of natural resources and risks to the global climate balance,the implementation of existing brazilian environmental legislation and the creation of an international forest regulation must be considered urgent in order to encourage and enforce the modernization of the productive mechanisms involving the Amazon biome.
