　　The failure of an air preheater is investigated in this paper.Deposit samples and corroded heating elements were taken from the air preheater of a 300MW coal-fired power plant in Wuhan Province,China,which suffered corrosion and plugging/fouling.X-Ray Fluorescence,X-Ray Diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscope equipped with energy dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy were applied to analyze the deposit samples and corroded heating elements.
