Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the mandibular condylar cartilage and femoral head cartilage growth in vitro.Methods: Twelve neonatal mice were classified into two groups, each group mice were decapitated and the cartilage was dissected and placed into a 6-well culture plate with 3 ml IMDM medium per well.In total, 24 explants (mandibular condyles plus femoral heads) were processed for stereomicroscopic observation and were embedded in paraffin for histology, and immunohistochemistry of PCNA.
