In some gold ores, gold is usually contained in arsenopyrite and pyrite and commonly present in forms of submicroscopic particles or impregnated ores.These refractory gold ores cannot be extracted efficiently by direct cyanide leaching and the oxidative pretreatment is required to expose the gold to the cyanide solution.Several pretreatment methods have been practiced including roasting oxidation,pressure oxidation and biooxidation[l-4], Compared with roasting oxidation and pressure oxidation,biooxidation has some advantages such as low cost and easily controlled process, which are appropriate for small and medium sized gold mines.However, the disadvantages of the biooxidation are low-efficiency with high ventilation power cost [5,6].
