Due to the serious metastable phenomena existed for the evaporating of brines,it is important to study the metastable phase equilibria of seawater and brine for the evaporating,crystallizing process,salting-out pathway as whereas the actual existence of crystalline regions.[1] In this paper,the metastable phase equilibria and the physicochemical properties including density,pH,conductivity and refractive index of the ternary system(Li2SO4-K2SO4-H2O)at 308.15 K were studied using the isothermal evaporation method.In the metastable phase diagram of the ternary system(Li2SO4-K2SO4-H2O)at 308.15 K in Fig.1,there are two invariant points,three univariant curves and three crystallization zones corresponding to K2SO4,Li2SO4·K2SO4 and Li2SO4·H2O.No solid solution was found.Compared with the stable diagram [2] at the same temperature and the same system,it was found that the area of the crystallization zones of K2SO4,Li2SO4·K2SO4 and Li2SO4·H2O in the metastable phase diagram are all decreased.Those results demonstrated that the metastable phenomena of sulfate solution system are obviously.
