Comparative genomics aims to understand how a defined coding or non-coding sequence functions through a comparative study of genomes from different species.Researchers can use both computer programs and NCBI links to compile up sequences of different species and identify their similarities and differences.Animal models are often established to elucidate the significance of these findings in the context of a whole organism.One difficult task of comparative genomics is to unravel the significance of genomic instability,which involves dynamic changes in genomic sequence as well as the global structure of the genome.Chromosomal instability (CIN) refers to the structural and numerical alterations of chromosomes.
