The hierarchical self-assembly behavior of diphenylalanine peptide, which ischaracterized by assembling core-branched nanostructures (pre-assemblies) in aqueous solution and then leading to the formation of nanofibers and microvesicles on the different surfaces, has been demonstrated firstly in this study. The novel strategy based on surface effect allows one to controllably fabricate various peptide-basednanostructures.
