Although cross-resistance between radiation and cis-platinum is well documented, both experimentally and clinically the molecular basis of these phenomena remains unknown.We have completed the rnicroarray analysis of the human ovarian tumor cell line A2780, which was derived from an untreated patient biopsy and ofA2780CP a sub-line which was selected for resistance to cis-platinum and is cross-resistant to ionizing radiation.Cells were treated with the equitoxic doses of radiation or cis-platinum and all experiments were done in duplicate.Many of the more significant observations from microarray analysis have been validated by RT-PCR.
