Hyalessa China, 1925 formerly included only the type species, H.ronshana, which was established based on just the female holotype collected from Yunnan Province in China.The male of this species remains unknown.This species has a nodal line which forms a well-defined vein almost completely crossing the fore wing.St(a)l (1870) established the genus Oncotympana with O.pallidiventris as its type species.Later, Distant (1905) redescribed Oncotympana, and Ishihara (1961) established the tribe Oncotympanini to accommodate it.
