In this work, we present rheological study on the linear and nonlinear viscoelasticity of polymer/silica nanocomposites.It is well known that network of particle agglomerates can form when the content of attractive particles increases (Fig.I).Determination the percolation threshold is of practical importance, where the Winter-Chambon criterion is often adopted in rheology.We find that such method relies greatly on the viscoelasticity of polymer matrix and the frequency range.A new modulus decomposition method is suggested to eliminate the possible effect of polymer viscoelasticity in the application of Winter-Chambon method in nanocomposites.
