Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) are attractive for use in luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) devices due to the excellent optical properties, but conventional luminescent centers of QD for LSC usually consist of heavy metal ions, such as Cd2+ and Pb2+, with limited friendly performances for environment and will hamper its applicability. Hence, a novel type of LSC incorporated CuInS2/ZnS QDs without the heavy metal ion has been fabricated and the optical performances of the LSC devices are investigated.
