It is known that communicative styles and behaviors vary across cultures due to different cultural values and attitudes. Thus,it is reasonable to think SNS behaviors should also vary across cultures. However, there is not much research focusing on the process of the intercultural communication besides the cross-cultural comparisons of the users of each national-based social network services. For example, the comparative study of the communicative behaviors of SNS users of Korean and American is conducted in terms of high-and low-context culture as well as individualism-collectivism culture and revealed that SNS relationship patterns replicated those of the face-to face, while reflecting users cultural orientation(Cho,2010),but doesnt focus on the process of the communication. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate the phenomena of intercultural communication constructed on social network services by focusing on the Facebook users among the students in the Philippines and Japan. The questionnaire and the interview will be conducted and discuss the results in terms of the communicative behaviors such as self-discloser,privacy management and assumption of friendship and so on.
