Austenitic stainless steels are important structural materials in both fusion and fission reactors.Alumina-forming austenitic(AFA)steel is a new type austenitic steel which shows higher strength and better oxidation resistance than traditional austenitic steel. At present, the influence of alloy elements on the hot deformation behavior of AFA steels has not been fully carried out.In this paper, the deformation behaviors of two based AFA steels containing different nickel and chromium contents(A1:Fe-16Cr-25Ni-2W-0.3Si-0.25Y-0.4Nb-3Al; A2:Fe-12Cr-18Ni-1.5W-0.3Si-0.25Y-0.2Nb-0.2V-3Al)were studied by hot compressive tests using a Gleeble-3500 thermal simulator.
