Loess landslides and collapse of loess induced by irrigation are serious and typical at the Heifangtai terrace, Gansu province, China.China Geological Survey (CGS) and Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) has carried out an international cooperation at the Heifangtai terrace on several aspects, including laws of infiltration of irrigation water, changes of groundwater dynamics to different irrigation volume, changes of engineering properties of loess before and after irrigation, loess landslides, collapse of loess and risk mitigation of loess geo-hazards.
