Objective:To report the safety and efficacy of inflatable gasbag reduction and cement augmentation,"Kyphoplasty" in the treatment of painful osteoporotic vertebral fractures.Methods:192 consecutive Kyphoplasty Procedures were performed in 144 patients.116vertebral bodies were fresh fractures,and 76 vertebral bodies were old fractures.Each of the patients had back pain.But no neurological symptoms,under C-arm fluoroscopy,the fractured level is visualized,the needle entry sites overlying its pedicles are localized,in bilateral approach simultaneously.After inflated,the gasbag restore the vertebral body back toward its original height while creating a cavity that can be filled with bone cement.
