Purpose: To propose a method for adaptively optimizing an image quality with over luminance in order to realize the optimization of visual quality of over luminance image.Methods:At first it is demonstrated that the complementary image of higher luminance image which mean luminance is bigger than 127.5 is a lower luminance image.And then a proven method for optimizing lower luminance image is used to adaptively optimize the complementary image of the higher image.Thirdly,finding the inverse image of the optimized complementary image is found to acquire a optimized image of the higher image.Finally,an equation system for directly and adaptively optimizing higher luminance image is derived mathematically.Results:An equation system for directly and adaptively optimizing higher luminance image,called Zadeh-X transformation,is obtained as follows.(1)subject to(2)(3)where ML is the mean luminance.and represent the gray/chroma value of pixel at point(x,y)in the original image and object image before and after transformation.Here let k=255.The Beta,Delta and k called the transformation parameters.The directly and adaptively optimizing higher luminance image is completed after coding equations from(1)to(3).The method achieves a superior outcomes by means of an assessment called image quality assessment function.Conclusions:The theoretical equation system for directly and adaptively optimizing higher luminance image is established.The experimental results demonstrate that the performance of this equation system is superior and the resulting images meet the criteria of no increasing information entropy.
