As a persistent organic pollutants candidate, short chain chlorinated paraffins have been reported in wastewater irrigated farmlands and sewage sludge1,2.In this study, soil and apple snails (Ampullariidae) were collected in 2010 to evaluate the spatial distributions of SCCPs in Taizhou,an e-waste dismantling area,in Zhejiang Province. The average concentrations of SCCPs in soil and snails were 342 and 58.5 ng/g d.w.,respectively.Take the dismantling factory as the center, the further the distance was,the lower the concentration of SCCPs in soil and snail samples (Fig.1-A).10 and 11 were the dominate carbon chain length, while congeners substituted by 6 and 7 chloride atoms were the majorities (Fig.1-B).Congeners with shorter carbon length and fewer chloride atoms substituted showed higher potential for migration than the others.
