For the study of systemic impairment from OSA, there has very important clinical and academic significant to mimicking the intermittent hypoxia (IH) from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).Intermittent hypoxia rat models were first developed by Fletcher in 1992, and he demonstrated that IH could induce the continuous increase of mean arterial pressure.In the following years, several different IH experiments confirmed the systemic impairment from OSA.
