  The influence of head shape on the burst pressure of filament wound glass/epoxy cylinders which are submitted to internal pressure is studied by testing cylindrical specimens with different stacking sequences.The effects of different head shapes, such as torispherical, hemispherical, semi-ellipsoidal and flat panel heads are tested.The obtained results, show that torispherical head with hellical winding angle of ten degrees has the highest burst pressure.
