Based the previous experiment,we screened out the best Si fertilization method that was Si fertilizer applied into soil combined with foliar spray Si fertilizer(Si+Lsi).In this study,an outdoor pot experiment was performed to explore the effects of two irrigation managements with Si+Lsi or without Si+Lsi on rice dry biomass,Cadmium(Cd)accumulation and translocation during three key growth stages of rice.Four treatments were applied including non-used silicon fertilizers with conventional irrigation(CK),non-used silicon fertilizers with irrigation in the whole stages(CK+I),Si+Lsi combined with conventional irrigation(Si+Lsi)and Si+Lsi combined with irrigation in the whole stages(Si+Lsi+I).The results showed that all treatments,except CK,significantly decreased the Cd concentrations in husk,brown rice and polished rice without showing any significant reduction of rice yields.Among four treatments,Si+Lsi+I had the best effects for the decrease of Cd in edible grains,followed with by the application of CK+I and Si+Lsi.The treatment of Si+Lsi+I resulted in a 93.65%,86.70%and 91.18%reduction of Cd concentration in husk,brown rice and polished rice,respectively.Therefore our study suggests that the application of Si+Lsi+I could be regarded as one of the VIP phyto-exclusion technologies(Low Cd Varieties,Suitable Irrigations and pH Modifiers)for Cd mitigation in rice.
