1.Agilent DNA Microarray Technology.DNA Microarray technology, for years, has primarily been used for gene expression profiling studies and has been demonstrated as a powerful tool for biomarker discovery and functional analysis of genes that comprise the genomes of organisms. In recent years, microarray-based applications expand well-beyond to include studies of genomic variations, epigenetic changes and small RNA expression profiling, which commands a robust technology platform that is optimized and designed for integration. The release of Agilent SurePrint G3 microarray continues to deliver the unsurpassed sensitivity and flexibility that Agilent microarrays have become well known for. With quadrupling probe density on a standard 25mm X 75mm glass slide, researchers can effectively conduct high resolution CGH/CNV analysis while providing a lower cost per data point. The latest introduction of SurePrint G3 Human CGH+SNP microarray can simultaneously detect chromosomal copy number changes and copy-neutral heterozygosity/uniparental disomy (LOH/UPD).The in-situ synthesis of probes on-demand is further opening up new horizons by offering researchers the flexible designs and formats with the benefits of commercial printing quality.2.Agilent SureSelect Target Enrichment System.Current generation DNA sequencers have revolutionized genomics research through dramatic increases in throughput and spiraling reduction in costs. The large throughput of next generation sequencers, however, also presents data analysis bottlenecks and challenges.Such challenges have motivated researchers to increasingly focus their sequencing efforts on genomic regions that matter most to their interests.Agilents SureSelect Target Enrichment System takes advantage of the exceptional fidelity in 200-mer oligonucleotides synthesis to custom-design genomic regions of interest for targeted capture through a user-friendly web-portal, eArray.Agilents SureSelect platform currently supports target enrichment on the Illumina GA and HiSeq, Applied Biosystems SOLiD, and 454 Life Sciences FLX and GS Junior NGS systems.Protocols and kits have been optimized for in-solution work that are custom designed, along with a catalog product targeting the human exome. The system can also easily be incorporated into an automated environment, further increasing process efficiencies, while minimizing total sample costs.
