Extraction of vanadium from black shale was attempted in pressure acid leaching.The chemical components of the sample obtained from Guizhou Province of China showed that it contained 3.258%V2O5, 52.88% SiO2 and 16.14% Al2O3.Phase and valence state analyses indicated vanadium mainly presented in iron oxide and clay, mica and insoluble aluminosilicate, and vanadium content in these phase was 18%, 80.53% and 1.47%,respectively.
